I was under the impression that the 4 GB limit was just because of the old FAT32 file system, but obviously on Win 7 that's not an issue. The problem seems to be that it will only output 1080P in AVCHD files, but it also will only write 4 GB file chunks and they still have exactly the same glitches. I do this all the time, but not with clips that are 4GB, but that should not matter. Sony Vegas will recompress your file, HDWriter will not - it should give you a glitch-free perfect copy of your original 108060p video. Select that, then put a check mark on the files you want to merge. You select edit new project, then it gives you the option for the output format, including AVCHD 1080 p.

So my question is if anyone knows how to put these segmented MTS files back together without glitching and keeping the original 1080P format using some combination of HD Writer and Vegas? Using the Vegas Import aimed at the camera files, it does the same thing. Using HD Writer to make copy of the files copies the separate files unchanged. Using HD Writer to transfer the files keeps them separate and putting them together in Vegas has the glitches. camera, use the version of HD Writer provided with that video camera. If I create a single 1080i file using the conversion tool in Panasonic HD Writer 3.0, it removes all the glitches and all is well, except it's in 1080i. What I'm trying to do is edit these in 1080P mode in Vegas Pro 11, however at the file boundaries I get audio dropouts and glitches.

I'm using a Panasonic TMS 900 in 1080P mode which splits the video at 4GB boundaries into separate MTS files.
